The Oshi Interviews: Emoto Koki

Welcome to my regular blog segment, The Oshi Interviews. Today’s interview is a little different because rather than being the one to ask the questions, I’m answering them. I wanted to be interviewed about one of my favourite actors to post on his birthday, and that day is finally here. Elisabeth Kaseda (who you can find at her website here) took the role of the interviewer, thank you so much for doing this for me!

She interviewed me about my oshi Emoto Koki (江本光輝), who turned 23 today (June 3rd 2020)

Emoto Koki is an actor who debuted in late 2018 as Chitose Senri in the Prince of Tennis Musical‘s 3rd season. He is 187 tall with legs that go on forever, a natural tan and thick eyebrows which he says are his charm point (although personally I would say his charm point is his amazing goofy smile and hyena-like laugh). He is a mature and simple guy who likes nothing more than to sit in cafes and read but is also an established cook and great at playing the piano. Who wouldn’t love a multi-talented guy like that?”

The Oshi Interviews: Nakao Kenya

Today’s interview is with Fox who I interviewed about her oshi Nakao Kenya (中尾健也) you can find Fox on Twitter @tokyolovejunkle.

“Kenya Nakao is a stage actor best known for his portrayal of Eichi Horimiya in the SolidS & QUELL on STAGE, S.Q.S for short, series. Despite still being a relatively new actor he’s already appeared in stage adaptations for several high profile series like K Project & Sengoku BASARA, including his debut role as Yoshiro Akazawa in The Prince of Tennis Musical’s 3rd season. Outside of his work in stage plays Kenya also recently appeared in a movie, Engawa Lovers 2, which also featured several of his co-workers from S.Q.S, & has recently shown his ability for singing, featuring on 2 theme songs for the most recent S.Q.S plays.”

The Oshi Interviews: Ota Motohiro

Today’s interview is with Kira who I interviewed about her oshi Ota Motohiro (太田基裕). you can find Kira on Twitter @yukiradaruma.

“Ota Motohiro aka Mokkun had his stage debut during the first season of Tenimyu as a pinch-hitter for the role of Ibu Shinji from Fudomine because the original actor could not reprise the role for the run. Mokkun is left-handed but he does some task with his right hand, including playing the guitar because back when he started playing it he was unable to afford a guitar for lefties and thus taught himself how to play with his right instead. The guiding principle behind Mokkun’s approach to his roles in 2.5D in particular is to add his own personal spin to them but to keep things within the boundaries of the original material in order to give fans a unique experience when watching a stage as compared to reading the manga or watching the anime or playing the game.”

The Oshi Interviews: Kosaka Ryoutarou

Today’s interview is with Ri who I interviewed about Haisute actor Kosaka Ryoutarou (小坂涼太郎). Ri runs a Tumblr dedicated to him, which you can find here.

Here’s what she had to say about him.

“Kosaka Ryoutarou is mostly known as Tsukishima Kei from Haisute and probably only as such in general. He doesn’t have a lot of 2.5D shows under his belt, but he did appear in quite a lot of stage plays already. Despite looking stylish and model-type (due to his long physique), he’s actually a pretty good actor who can pull off different kinds of roles you wouldn’t expect from him.”

He has sexy lips, a jawline so sharp it can cut through diamonds and whenever he’s not busy performing on stage, making music or shooting videos with his younger brother… he’s probably doing something to his hair. He’s Futaba Yuu, the airhead twin!”
